I am going to be coming to Montreal next week and am hoping for advice on things to do (theater, museums, comedy, etc.) that are walking distance or very short cab rides away from the biodome area.  I can only find one hotel online that is really close to there but its expensive, are there more around there? Can anyone tell me if the walking road/path up Mount Royal from Parc Ave is walkable right now? Or is it covered in ice and snow?

I have friends visiting this weekend and really want to take them skating at Beaver Lake and/or snowshoeing on the mountain!  Two questions:

1--We can rent skates and/or snowshoes up there, right?

2--Can we walk up the mountain despite all the snow?  I usually go up the inclining path by Tam Tams (by Parc) but I'm not sure if this is feasible in mi- ( Read more... )

Does anyone know anything about the Halo Run that happened today on Mount Royal? Did it benefit a charity? Was it just a race? What's up with that? I've looked everywhere, including the GMAA website, and there's not a helluva lot of detail out there.
